ACT NATURALLY
What does it mean to act naturally?
For me, it means trying to strip down all the masks, layers, and ambitions I have accumulated throughout my life. And simply being present in the moment as it is, not the thought of it. Like when we were children, we absorbed the pure impressions of things, without external influence or commenting internally. Each moment was truly a new moment.
It was this kind of longing that led me to photography originally. Every free hour I had I spent on wandering around with a camera as my companion and excuse to simply observe and experience the beautiful world we live in. Without art school degrees and concepts, just playing intuitively in front of the camera without thinking about the resulting images.
Approaching this theme, I brought out the old Mamiya camera and intentionally tried to play and act and behave naturally as I did back then. It opened up for the simple joy of just following a beautiful light, playing intuitively in front of the camera, and silently rejoicing in having a body that can see and experience. A body that can sense light and temperature, listen to mountains, and draw by leaving traces in the sand.
